Preparing Seeds and Handling Oil
Is an oil filter machine necessary after cold pressing?
Direct Answer
Pressed oil often contains suspended seed particles. Settling may suit small batches, while an appropriately selected filter can support more consistent clarification and a planned commercial packing schedule.
Detailed Engineering Analysis
Assess the amount of oil, solids load, desired clarity and available tank space before choosing a filter. Ask for a filtration trial on your actual oil and include retained oil, consumables and cleaning time in the cost. Filtration is not the same as refining and does not establish that all contaminants have been removed. Match the filter to the press's measured liquid-oil production rather than copying the press's seed-throughput number.
